Therapy can be expensive and so here are a few options available to provide financial assistance for speech therapy services.
Community Health Centres
These centres provide free therapy however there is often a long waiting list.
Private Health Insurance
I have a HICAPS machine that allows clients to claim through their private health insurance and then just pay the gap.
Medicare Chronic Medical and Complex Care Needs program
You need to speak to your GP about eligibility for this program. Most children are eligible but your GP needs to approve the program and provide you with a form to bring to me. Medicare provides 5 rebates per calendar year. I am able to claim the rebates for you using the HICAPS machine.
Centerlink Carer's Allowance
If your child has a significant learning disorder/delay you may be eligible for this allowance to assist in the cost of therapies.
National Disability Insurance Scheme
I am NOT a registered provider under this scheme however I am still able to see children under the NDIS if parents arrange to go through an agency or if they self-manage the funding. The NDIS is for children with Disabilities and a diagnosis of Autism.
